Winter 2023 Anime Season
2023-01-16
We're now two weeks into the Winter 2023 anime season. Not nearly as many series to keep up with compared to the previous season, but the big one this season is Vinland Saga. more like farmland saga amirite?
I was keeping up with the series when its first season was airing back in 2019 but fell off around episode 16. Season 2 is now here so I kinda binged through the rest of season 1 to be surprised that at the end that the whole season was a prologue. Damn, what a great story.
So Vinland Saga season 2 is the only one I'll really keep up with weekly for Winter 2023.
I checked out the first episode of Tomo-chan is a Girl and it seems to be a fun show. Not sure if I want to stay with it, but I'll wait until Amaki Sally's character shows up, which is apparently in episode 2.

Other than those two, the Trigun reboot seems interesting. First episode was decent and the CG style looked good. I'll give it a few episodes.
I also finished Aoashi. This show isn't part of Winter 2023, but aired sometime in 2022... summer maybe? Anyway it's about football/soccer, and was quite good. As a football enjoyer(kinda) I liked how it focused more on the game's tactics over the player's skills. I usually don't watch sports anime but this one was pretty enjoyable. Hope it gets a season 2. The manga has 30 volumes so there's still a lot to adapt.
I need to catch up on One Piece.
